Thread: Under Armour

Russell is like the Sun Belt. Might not be the worst but perception dictates otherwise. The bowl gear the team had was very cool I thought.
Last I heard Russell pays money where all the others wanted to charge us. That will likely change soon as we keep winning.

There is a reason only 7 D1 schools still have Russell, high school kids hardly wear Russell

We've all got connections, mine tell me something different. But by all means, continue with your mad.

As long as we have different design with no pink shoulders or pink on our pants....whoever gives us that...i'll have that. Our helmets in the NOLA bowl were the only good thing about our unis. The idea of tiny fleur di lis is a good one but if no one can actually see them it just looks pink.

Russell uniforms, despite popular belief, are some of the best uniforms around. If we go to Nike we won't get the same quality uniform that the big schools have. The Nike uniforms at smaller schools and high schools are very poor in quality. Unless you are Oregon, USC, Miami, FSU and schools of that nature you will not get high quality uniforms.

---Some quick thoughts-----Screw up with the pink look from the distance (OK up close but it doesn't work )---F de L is/was one of the greatest looks in the history of the school---I would think that it was a Home run for recruiting----In the pecking order I see L Williams HUD Farmer T-Joe---and the decider was???

From everything I've been told, Hud was all about getting on with Under Armor in his first season when the Russell deal was expiring, but that it was the coaches of other sports that, in a word, outnumbered him, because they were more than satisfied with Russell and weren't looking for a change. That may be hogwash, it may not be, I don't know. But it sounds fairly believable.

Aside from the actual uniforms, most of the practice gear and warm ups are under armor. Marlin is for it, robe would probably be indifferent. But any coach that wouldn't see it as a recruiting advantage isn't very in touch with today's youth.

When is everyone in the athletic dept going to realize that Hud is THE face of our program and by far the best ambassador for anything that has to do with Ragin Cajun athletics. Give the man what he wants. I realize Farmer is the AD but for some reason when I saw him holding the NOLA bowl trophy I just wasn't happy to see him. I've gone from thinking he was the one to get us to the next level to feeling like he is the one holding us back with being content with where we are now and dragging his feet on our master plan efforts and anything regarding conference. To sum up.....if Hud wants new unis....give him new unis. Haha
