The Cajuns used three homers, including one by winning pitcher Tankersley, to take a 5-0 lead over Seton Hall before the Pirates tallied twice in the final inning. Prior to that seventh frame, Tankersley (8-2) had checked Seton Hall (11-3) on three hits and fanned four.

UL added to an early 2-0 lead on Tankersley's solo homer in the second inning, and homers by Codi Runyan and Lacey Bertucci in the sixth inning provided the final two runs. Tankersley also scored one of the first-inning runs when she singled and scored on Melissa Verde's single.
