So many excuses, but a good coach would have kept this from happening, even in a rebuilding season. Seems like next year's expected improvement can only be about .500 record, which is also unnacceptable for this program and in this conference. The worse thing about this rebuilding year is the inconsistency and that should fall on the coach more so than the players.
Coach Lee is not getting a free pass. Lots of folks are holding him responsible for this year and you are not the only one criticizing him. The administration is giving him a pass because they expected a tough year going in. I can tell you that many people expect better than a 0.500 record as far as improvement for next year. In 95, we won 7 games and had a winning season the next year without significant additions. Do you know anything that tells you that 0.500 is the best we will do? We lost 10 games this year by less than 6 points. A talent upgrade can fix that. We had the freshman on the year this season. People close to the program tell me that two of the guys sitting out are better than him and the freshman we signed scored 35 in a playoff game last week. Coach Lee knows this cannot happen again as he said so recently.

Some people may not believe in Robert Lee as a Coach/Teacher. Others say that next season will tell the tale on those issues. However people who have met him believe in him as a man/person. If you have not met him, you cannot have knowledge of this issue.

One thing is changing. The guys who are working to earn eligiblity are going to class and doing well in school.

Why don't you tellme when we have ever had 12,000 in the Dome for a Bball game. The largest crowd I ever remember was around 9100. With our average being about 5000 and we were winning 20+ games.

We never had 12,000. We have had numerous games of well over ten thousand.

Jesse has his name in many of the biggest crowds after this, but the highest are all under ten thousand.

What is the point? The only team IMO that was as good as the the Shipley, and Palschal era was Robert Lees team with Green, Mitchell,Wade, and Chris Cameron. Had we had M Southall that year we might have been a sweet sixteen team, maybe not depending on his attitude.
