Season long look at UL's trek through the Baseball RPI rankings

_ Now that the baseball season has ended it is time to predict who I think will get drafted....Nolan Gisclair,Jefferies Tatford,Jonathan Lucroy and possibly Matt Pilgreen... _

Gisclair will not get drafted high enough to go. It is rumored that Pilgreen will be comming back...would be suprised if he would go in the top 20 rounds...been injury prone.

_ Maybe its just the conspiracy theorist in me, but I have a hard time believing that 2, yes 2, average middle of the road pitchers had games of their lives back to back. That just doesnt happen. Its odd how they used the curveball to no end knowing we had trouble with it. Its also wierd that these said curveballs were dropping really really hard. Major league curve balls if you ask me. Maybe because the curveball is a pitch you can doctor with a substance to drop a few more inches. That just doesnt sit well with me. We have struggled in games, but not this bad. And the coaching staff for A&M, they just look dirty, like they would push their own mother in front a truck just to win. Maybe Im just angry, maybe im just looking for answers, but one thing is for certain, without those two pitchers having better pitching performances than the aces on the staff, they wouldnt even have made it to Monday. Sure alot of people will say well what about what Solich did in the Sun Belt Tournament, I never said these great games never happen, but not in concurrence. Not two different guys having almost identical nights. Call me what you want, the better team did not win. _

Hawk, all of the Cajun faithful are sad, and down, with the results of the Aggie regional. I understand your pain. However, its a game . A baseball game. Strange things occur...ball players exceed their talents, and vice versa.

On this particular weekend aTm was the better team. Like it or not! So, lets be good sports about this event, congratulate the Aggies on their win, and wish them success in the future games leading up to and including the CWS. Perhaps this could lead to some out of conference games with them in the future. Not a bad idea.

Our fellows gave it their all. One cannot ask for more than that. Buck up lad. I can assure you of one thing, the sun will rise in the East and set in the West. If that doesn't occur we have much bigger concerns!!!!

The Rat is the NCAA Selection Committee that sent a #14 RPI on the road and awarded a host site to a #20... We are playing in Houston this weekend if they had lived up to their own guidelines for regional bids and #1 seeding.....

Actually we would probably be hosting a super regional b/c a&m would still be paired with rice, which would put us paired with texas which lost their regional to uc irvine.

easier said than done pilgreen i think is a 5th year senior already. He may get another year for medical but that has not been decided yet i don't think

The way it works with Pilgreen is, now that the season is over, he petitions the NCAA for a sixth year. He'll need to turn in all of his medical reports documenting his two surgeries and also send in his transcript.

Usually, the first thing the NCAA looks at is, does the player have his degree (after five years)...the answer there is yes for Pilgreen.

I personally believe that, if he applies, he'll get it. But that's his choice whether or not to do it.

What about the kid from Barbe? I have heard that he is sure to be drafted. Any word on where he would potentially be drafted and whether he will go if drafted?

the word on the street is that his father would like for him to get at least 2 years od college under his belt before going pro. Also, he is great friends with Tony. I really think he will show up and play.
If, Pilgreen , Laughter, and Lucroy come back, we could make it to the World Series . Sure would be an experienced and powerfull lineup.
