The ribeyes were ok. Beer was cold and wine was Merlot. Now for that aspirin sandwich and getting ready for 7:00 PM. I'm getting too old for this!Originally Posted by snote

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - No questions. No excuses.
Just too much Kyle Thebeau.
The freshman righthander with the Cajun-sounding name did a number on the Ragin' Cajuns Monday night, single-handedly pitching Texas A&M into the NCAA Super Regionals.
Thebeau scattered seven singles and struck out a career-high 13 in leading the host Aggies to a 5-2 victory in the championship game of the NCAA Tournament's College Station Regional.
"He came right at us," said Cajun coach Tony Robichaux. "He had good stuff, and as soon as he sped our bats up with the fast ball he came with the slider."
Thebeau (3-5) came with enough stuff to fan the last five Cajuns he faced, after giving up a pair of hits to Devon Bourque and Xavier Alexander to open the bottom of the eighth inning. Aggie coach Rob Childress made a trip to the mound but decided to leave the Corpus Christi product in the game - much to the delight of the 5,672 fans on hand at Olsen Field.

Winning 2 out of 3 from Texas A&M is a tough enough assignment but doing it at their place while not playing your best ball is next to impossible.Originally Posted by NewsCopy
UL's Ragin' Cajuns had a fine showing this season and from all I have read expectations are already the same for next year.
Thanks to all the 2007 UL players and coaches for representing us so well.

Speaking of expectations...There are a fair amount of guys not coming back, but its not like a few years ago when the team lost 18 seniors, now next year may be a different story.Originally Posted by DestinCajun

Others not expected to return would surely include Jonathan Lucroy.
I would expect that Lil Robe and Harmon would fill in nicely in the bully taking AL and MP's places...Our middle infield will see X moving to replace Bourque and Long taking over at SS permanently...I would think that Hatfield might see more playing time in left, or right with Gisclair going to left...and we already know we have a 3rd baseman...and as for 1st, perhaps lil robe will fill in there too.
Just note that these suggestions are using just this year's roster, and I'm not familiar with the high school and transfer players coming in next year, those on the bench who may step up, or those who were red-shirted this year.
I do now one thing that is freaking yooge (as Trump would say)...we have four VERY quality starters, who have all shown signs of greatness at one time or another (especially Glass and Moody from the '06 season) that should be coming back
Pilgreen is appealing (or has already done so) to get a sixth year.Originally Posted by rhineaux
I heard BoP say last night we have experience (not necessarily starters) coming back at EVERY position.... Add to that a rotation of Farquar, Moody, Zolich and Glass... Pilgreen if he comes back... T-Robe... The Pitching staff is going to be incredible.... We will miss two sticks in Luke and Tat.... I see GREAT things next year.........
Yeah, I thought I had heard that someone was appealing for another year, but could not remember if it was this team or something else, nor did i realize that it was Pilgreen, and it was for a sixth. did he miss two years because of injury or something? has he graduated and is working on a graduate degree?Originally Posted by CajunRed
