    Brian...

Maybe I should know this because I've been studiously following you all seson long... but wht the heck is the "pair wise S curve"?

And, as usual, thanks for all your work. Its helped make this season even interesting and exciting than it already would have been.

No, I have not really addressed this. There is a lot of statistical foo I do not present on the board but is behind the scenes.

The pairwise s-curve is a meta-rating system used to rank teams off of an ordinal positioning based on their wins and losses. Think of it as a generalization of a weighted record against the Top XX. So, at a high level, a team winning a game against the #5 team in the country would receive a score of 289 (293-5), with 293 being the number of Division I teams. This would be win points (WinPts). A team losing a game against the #5 team in the country would lose only five points (LossPts). The total score for a team is simply (WinPts - LossPts)/total games.

Robe was asked by Bitter Saturday morning if the game was a "must win" for purposes of hosting and Robe said it was not.

Who do you think got knocked out of an at large because UNO is in? I would guess the NCAA will take it out on a mid major?

IMO that is coach speak. Sometimes coaches are brutally honest, and at other times not. Gone Golfin said coach needs to show confidence at this time, he cannot give any excuse for the NCAA to dis our program.

I cannot get there yet as there are several tournaments, regular season games, and potential at-large bids/automatic bids that need to be resolved. But if you assume that UNO is the last automatic bid/bubble burster, it could be one of the following ...

    - Pac10 team like California
    - Big XII team like Kansas State (but I think they were out anyway)
    - SEC team like Alabama or Tennessee (but still not likely, unless Templeton pushes one through)
    - St. John's from the Big East, possibly Louisville, but not likely. I have St. John's and Louisville in right now.
    - Big Ten team - Minnesota
    - Cal Poly from the Big West

They may not have made it but lets say they would have. I think Troy would be the prime candidate to get knocked out due to UNO gettig the auto.

If Troy would have been one of the last two or three teams in, yes I agree.

But I believe that the Sun Belt was a one bid conference had the Cajuns won yesterday.

    UL Baseball Cajuns on TV

An article in the Abbeville Meridional has the Cajuns' baseball games on TV at Pete's.

Can anyone verify that? I can't find anything about it on any TV listings.
