I agree with you. Based on the results Coach Hall had while here, I have no reason to question his recommendation of Coach Hatchell. I know David Walker will make the best hire possible and if it happens to be Coach Hatchell, so much the better.
If Hatchell gets the promotion, do y'all think Bari would come as an assistant? If not, then I say take Bari and we have both Bari and Hatchell.
God Bless
Incidentally, we ran the RPI today using the basketball formula. The Cajuns came out with an RPI of 6. This is due to the number of road games (and road wins) the Cajuns have. Of course, if baseball ever did adopt a similar formula, the weightings for home and road games would be different than those used in basketball.Originally Posted by GoneGolfin

On a related note, the NCAA made some mistakes with the RPI published today. Particularly with the classification of "neutral" games. Texas played eight games earlier in the season at Round Rock's stadium because Disch-Falk was being refurbished. These eight games were classified as neutral site games. Next week's report will be corrected. However, as a result, San Diego will be awarded two games worth of Top 25 RPI bonus points since it defeated Texas twice in the three game series held in early February. Thus, if the report were correct this week, the Cajuns would be at #20 instead of #19.

Cajuns # 6 in the country according to the basketball RPI, awesome. No really, I believe baseball should weight home/away games some but of course not as much as basketball.
As Jay has said and I truely believe, that winning a road game in basketball is the hardest obstacle in sports. I read some where, a gambling website, that college basketball wins 80% of their games at home.

UL's baseball team moved into another ranking Wednesday, but this one was a lot more important than any of the national polls.
The Ragin' Cajun squad was ranked 19th in an historic first public release of the NCAA's Ratings Percentage Index, one of the primary tools used by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee to select and seed teams for the NCAA Tournament.
The RPI release, approved by the committee in February 2006, will be available each Wednesday the index is distributed to committee members through May 30, two days after the NCAA field is announced.
The NCAA released its RPI in men's and women's basketball last winter and will release complete RPI listings, indexing each team that sponsors the sport in all sports where the index is used by the respective committees effective this academic year.
The NCAA did not release its RPI percentages and does not release its formula for deriving the RPI, but simulations done by outside agencies have been available for several sports.
