Thread: Season long look at UL's trek through the Baseball RPI rankings

  1. Default Re: Updated Base RPI (SEBaseball.com)

    Brian,

question for ya, last year Grant Dereoun was a starter, this year he is still listed on the roster, but I don't see where he has ever played this year for the Cajuns.

Is he hurt, or are we just that deep? Or did something else happen to him?

    Just interested.

Robichaux decided to redshirt him. We are really deep here. Santiago is seeing little playing time as well.

Grant Dereoun was injured just before the season started from what I heard. He would have missed some time and with the depth we have at third with Van de Keere and Santiago, Dereoun will be red-shirted and back in the mix next year.

I meant to comment on this and forgot.

The reason this is the case is because your winning percentage is only 25% of the Base RPI formula. The strength of the schedule you play is 75% of the formula.

You can be 0-10, but if your opponents and your opponents' opponents have a strong record, you are going to have a good RPI.

Of course, the above RPI was before the USM series.

No reply necessary or expected. It was posted merely for the irony.

Does look pretty good for now. However, we were in the top 10 in RPI prior to our meltdown at MT.

We have already had our annual meltdown against Northwestern, but let's hope we don't have our usual meltdown against McNeese either tonight or tomorrow night.

Where can we get statistics on the team such as BA, ERA etc.......? I couldn't find it on the SunBelt web site and since UL's athletic web site is not up, I can't get it there.
