Nothing that forces you to build up every leg of the athletic table... is a bad thing. "Working" to get our program in contention for Big XII membership is work that will make our program very healthy. When you build a vehicle to haul a larger load longer distances... it pretty much assures you that you can carry lesser loads shorter distances. When it comes to collegiate athletics, all the legs of a healthy program table are 100% transferable to every stop along the way.

Our worst deficiency is the constant losses of inertia we miss out on because our management is only prepared to celebrate a milestone, like a fan, instead of multiplying the milestone, like a fearless leader.

We've still got a lot of "low knowledge voters" to educate.

I believe, but not positive on this, that the master plan is for facilities. The problem we had is some of the things that we were going to build would limit us on adding on or upgrading existing facilities. Hopefully we will all find out soon.

If I am correct this shows our budget to be $13,946,204.

Iowa St has the lowest budget in the big 12 at $48,469,929. Any idea how we can get close to that or does this not count as a reason?
Double deck both sides and fill in the endzones at Cajun Field, get a $50 million budget, pay the football and basketball coaches $1.5 million, post winning records on a consistent basis, and then the Big XII is a possibility. Note that I didn't say an impossibility.

I haven't posted on here in a while but a simple reminder, the ISU in ISUCajunfan stands for Iowa State.

I, for one, would love to have you guys in the Big XII! I enjoyed your stadium when I visited and the people were all very friendly. You would all love Ames too. Those of you who made the trip up would be welcomed to my tailgate. Just give me a head count so I know how many beers to supply!

My question is . . . How did Texas Tech get in?

I have been to your stadium already (we made a trek through Iowa on a family reunion trip) and your stadium is very nice! We are hoping to get a Master Plan in place to upgrade ours along with everything in athletics.

Do you really want to be in a cusa where every year they are changing their members? Or the Big East ... which may not even exist in a year? If we are going to have a Master Plan and we want to grow this University, let's aim high. NOTHING that has happened over two years ago matters; that is old history from another school ... we are now the LOUISIANA RAGIN' CAJUNS and we want to play with the big boys.
Yes, we need to aim high, but we need to bring bling bling to the table. So far we do not have enough bling bling. Big 12 has no interest in us, ESPN wont even use the name we want to to be branded by and 2 years of football success is not enough to get their attention. There are many others ahead of us in the invite line. As much as I think CUSA and BE are no better in football at this time, history and tradition are not on our side in this one. Plus, I am very concerned that the whole economic model in NCAA football is another bubble that will burst in 5 to 10 years. The mad spending sprees cannot last and we have to think long and hard as to how we spend our money and who we choose to affiliate. I have helped raise a lot of money for the university in the past and give as I can today. Yes, I would love to see us in an AQ conference but I would also accept the baby steps to continue progressing. It is happening as we speak. I lived through going to every home game during the Baldwin era, I can be patient with this transition. We are in much better shape now.
