We made millions in good will, made many new fans and had a blast in the process. If we allow it to happen, we can also parlay this into the gateway to a conference that does not include a certain neighbor to the north.

The way I understand the rule is that we share half our revenue with the other conference teams that went to bowls. And since we already share half of the revenue with the NO Bowl, we really get a quarter of our generated revenue. The same goes for other SBC teams that go to bowls. But they're not gonna generate the revenue that we generated. So we're getting screwed.

I agree with the writer. All of the bowls should schedule for the best game possible, and at the same time all of the money collected from all the television revenue should be split equally between all of the bowl teams.

A gift that keeps on giving, UL's 43-34 New Orleans Bowl win over East Carolina last Saturday at the Superdome was filled with fun facts.

For the Ragin' Cajuns, that was the case on both sides of the ball.

A few items of note on the Cajun defense.

UL Football New Orleans Bowl has come into its own

NEW ORLEANS — Just call it the little bowl that could.

After spending its first decade searching for recognition and relevance, the New Orleans Bowl has arrived.

And credit a healthy dose of Ragin' Cajuns for making it happen.

"This is what we were waiting for," said Billy Ferrante, the bowl's executive director, after Louisiana-Lafayette and its rowdy fan following claimed their second straight New Orleans Bowl victory Saturday, a 43-34 win against East Carolina. "We're where we've hoped we'd be. Today, we had the game we wanted and the crowd we wanted."
    ...
"For the second straight year, the game set an attendance record — 48,828, a 6,347 bump over last year, when ULL played San Diego State, and 18,000-plus more than the mark before that. For a little perspective, that’s probably going to rank right in the middle of this year’s 35 bowl games. College football in New Orleans is a hard sell — witness Tulane — and the Sugar Bowl is having a hard time moving tickets for the Florida/Louisville game"

Actually, I think we have to split the profits from, "over-and-above" sales, with the other bowl teams. But there has to be a profit to split. So, if ASU, WKU and ULM don't have a profit, they don't split anything with any other team. We would be the only ones forced to split. I have the article link.

Thanks for the link. We are only going to share the part of ticket sales that exceed our expenses. I would "expense out" ALL itmes associated witht the bowl activities (as allowed under the SB guidelines) ... such as the RCAF/Alumni party and the Home Bank party ... these were sponsored by said parties, but there is nothing wrong with it being a UL expense ... the monies saved by the sponsors could be invested in RCAF and we aren't sending money to WKU, ASU or ULM.

Players', coaches' and staff's rings should also be "expenses" deducted before sending any money to the Hoax.
