He also hired Augie Tamarillo that led to some of more glorious years in football... He started the fund raising that led to attracting teams like Alabama and Texas A&M to Cajun Field.... Ultimately lured awy by the University of Arkansas....

Mistakes are made in hiring at every univeristy....I'd rather the guy (or gal) that takes a chance trying to improve things to the gal (or guy) who chooses to keep the status quo that for 30 odd years has not moved this university forward.....

There was a time when Southern Miss and USL were viewed similarly... Not any more...they have moved forward.... Many on here choose to put their head in the sand regarding Tech.... Like it or not their athletic department has progressed much beyond ours...Now Troy has burst onto the scene... Movin and shakin while we sit stuck in the mud....

Folks we don't even have a friggin AD... and havnt for a long time....... We are not going anywhere until we do..........and as time continues to march on, others are moving forward.... Sorry.. I love UL as much as anyone.... but the view from where I sit is not pretty...

See you at the Teague tonite............

My man, listen. Things are not all peachy keen, I'll be the first to admit it. But we arent about to crater, either.

Choked is to put it mildly... ULM put an sss whippin on us.. third time in the last 4 years.... We have not even been able to separate ourselves from them.... What claim can we make to the UL identity if we cant do that??

Maybe we are not about to crater... but from my vantage I don't see the thrusters being lit to launch this rocket either.... just the good old comfortable status quo.................

Its Tigue. Whose head is in the sand. Looks like you and I were the only ones discussing Tech. If you are going to call someone out just do it, dont pus.sy foot. After all these posts your only answer as to why Tech would be in CUSA before us is because they are in the WAC??? Absurdity. I gave you some concrete answers as to why your assertions were false. Anyway, CUSA isnt taking any more members. Viva la Sunbelt!!!

Yeah they are the team that wears out everyones travel budget having to fly into Shreveport, then bus to Ruston. Bus back to Shvprt and fly out again...

Personally, I met some nice folks and enjoyed myself.

The fact they are in a better conference ( I grant you not a good fit for them ) in a town like Ruston shows we have done so little with so much. We should have been in CUSA 10 years ago and be complaining about not being part of the BCS.

Dudes never proven anything. His assts arent world beaters. Scelfo is a dishonest a.sshole. Probably best we found out about that now, rather than later.

For the most part, their facilities arent as good as ours. Sim has done wonders with the baseball diamond, but it sure isnt "the Tigue"

Football field is mediocre at best. Prescription turf...nice...kudos.

    Our Indoor practice facility...much nicer.

The basketball arena is OK. Certainly not any better than the Cajundome.

Again, I can see your frustration but maybe you should have compared us to Troy instead of Tech. Troy is the one that will leave everyone(including the mighty tech) behind if we dont pll our fingers out of our ssses.

    Z.

I agree 100% with the Troy statement.

Instant gratification, instant gratification........are you freakin kidding me?

If you call 30+ years watching and waiting for that moron who runs this ship to do his job when it comes to athletics (I think he has done a very admiral job with the academics), then you are just as big of a moron.

Why in the hell should I have to go to Gerald Hebert to get answers to these questions? (Don't get me wrong, I think Gerald is the best thing that has happened to UL athletics in a long time) I am an alum just like most who post here, and this is where I have to come to get my information (no offense intended Turbine. Thank goodness for this site.) The university should come to me and to all alum. Believe me, I do my part. I have 4 season baseball tickets, I go to many basketball games, football games etc.... My wall at the office is littered with UL stuff. I have more UL gear at home than I know what to with. Don't tell me I don't do my part.

And again Olman, you failed to read the entire post. But I will take your prayers though. Goodness knows I need them

I am not calling anyone out... Just wanted to engage in some conversation about a subject that bothers me... Guess you are satisfied with the way things are.... thats fine.. I'm not.. I'll continue to support this university.. No worries there... Just seems to me that we should expect more....

You know what, I am glad that I started this post. Not because of the negativity it may have generated, but because of the anger and passion that it stoked in many of you.

I find I do my best work when I am angry. We just need to channel our anger into a positive way.

Once we lose our anger and passion we become apathetic, and that is the worst thing that we can do as UL fans.

    P.S.

I will be at the Tigue tonight cheering on my RAGIN CAJUNS. Hope to see you all there. Yes Olman, even you.
