EVERYTHING you said about facilities is true... We stand head and shoulders above Tech in all of those areas and more... most importantly in size of community and student body.. Yet the WAC is superior to the Belt in virtually every sport...maybe not baseball.... and again i think Tech would move into a more prestigous conference before us...

As for Troy... kudos to those guys... They are moving that program like we SHOULD BE............
You arent giving me a reason as to why Tech would move before us. Because they are in the WAC.? Thats not a reason. It sure isnt what those folks making the decisions are looking for.

Yeah they are the team that wears out everyones travel budget having to fly into Shreveport, then bus to Ruston. Bus back to Shvprt and fly out again...

Personally, I met some nice folks and enjoyed myself.

You make incredibly persuasive arguements.... which begs the question and enhances my point....

WHY is Tech in the more prestigous conference??

Why would Tech receive the invite to say CUSA before us??

Why does Tech get mentioned for Bowl Games when we are not even on the radar???

BUT ................ damit, it is exactly at this time when interest is high that we (UL) needs to be visible and actively promoting itself.

Where in the hell is our new AD, and don't tell me budget issues because that is a crock of S # $ T!!!!!

Where in the hell is the beautiful electronic sign that was supposed to be errected at the corner of Bertrand and West Congress?

Where in the hell is the new ragincajuns.com?

You know, if people around the area or around the country want to get info on the sports programs and how they are doing, the University website would be a great place to go. Fortunately we have this site, but not everybody knows about it.

It just gets soo frustrating especially when I know that we are our own worst enemies. We are always complaining that we are treated like second class citizens, but that is how we treat ourselves.

This is frickin rediculous. Has the search committee even met to discuss the AD position in the last month, two months.....?

Like I said at the beginning of this post, I hate to be negative at right now when there is so much to be positive about, but in my excitement I am trying to get as much info about the sports program as I can, and other than this site............... NOTHING. Jay Walker won't answer any real questions, the _______r is well, the _______r and the rest of time I have to hear about LSU.

    Whew, that felt good

    Now, GEAUX CAJUNS.
then why are you opeining your mouth and (&#*%)comes out?
the new ragin cajun will be out soon i got a peek at it and it looks good, they are working out some of the bugs, you know what! i feel for you people who live in this INSTANT time these days and if you want it to move any faster there is one thing you can do................go over to the athletic building get ahold to gerald and he'll fill you in on speeding up the projects that takes $$$ other than that why not sit back and try to enjoy, i know what...i'll say alittle prayer for you how about that.......................

Tech made a choice. We were approached as well as UNT. I never said Tech would recieve an invite to CUSA before us, you did.

When was the last bowl game Tech was mentioned for? It sure as shirt wasnt 2006? I heard our name bandied about about up until we choked against ulm. 7 wins would have gotten us in.

My man, listen. Things are not all peachy keen, I'll be the first to admit it. But we arent about to crater, either.

Believe it or not, I actually get some work done during the day. I need to tend to those responsibilties right now! Nice talking with you!

I attended our last one... back in the early 70's if memory serves me.... The Grantland Rice Bowl.....

I'm not arguing success on the field other than the aforementioned bowl games but i think we are kidding our selves if we believe that we would be considered for a bigger conference affiliation before Tech would...

We seem mired in the worst football conference in America and can't even seem to compete well in that one.... the 2005 Co-Championship year notwithstanding... Spring Sports we certainly do better in but we all know what drives the bus.... football....

There needs to be an infusion of new blood and excitement... Remember when Terry Don Phillips came in here???? Thats what i'm talking about... it's not going to happen with another good ole boy that all the cronies get along with....

Sure do remember Terry Don, he`s the idiot that hired the drunken thief Gene Shell to replace Brad Kelly, who by the way is the advance scout for the cubs.Shell managed to lead our baseball program to it`s lowest point in it`s history.

He also hired Augie Tamarillo that led to some of more glorious years in football... He started the fund raising that led to attracting teams like Alabama and Texas A&M to Cajun Field.... Ultimately lured awy by the University of Arkansas....

Mistakes are made in hiring at every univeristy....I'd rather the guy (or gal) that takes a chance trying to improve things to the gal (or guy) who chooses to keep the status quo that for 30 odd years has not moved this university forward.....

There was a time when Southern Miss and USL were viewed similarly... Not any more...they have moved forward.... Many on here choose to put their head in the sand regarding Tech.... Like it or not their athletic department has progressed much beyond ours...Now Troy has burst onto the scene... Movin and shakin while we sit stuck in the mud....

Folks we don't even have a friggin AD... and havnt for a long time....... We are not going anywhere until we do..........and as time continues to march on, others are moving forward.... Sorry.. I love UL as much as anyone.... but the view from where I sit is not pretty...

See you at the Teague tonite............

Choked is to put it mildly... ULM put an sss whippin on us.. third time in the last 4 years.... We have not even been able to separate ourselves from them.... What claim can we make to the UL identity if we cant do that??

Maybe we are not about to crater... but from my vantage I don't see the thrusters being lit to launch this rocket either.... just the good old comfortable status quo.................

Its Tigue. Whose head is in the sand. Looks like you and I were the only ones discussing Tech. If you are going to call someone out just do it, dont pus.sy foot. After all these posts your only answer as to why Tech would be in CUSA before us is because they are in the WAC??? Absurdity. I gave you some concrete answers as to why your assertions were false. Anyway, CUSA isnt taking any more members. Viva la Sunbelt!!!

The fact they are in a better conference ( I grant you not a good fit for them ) in a town like Ruston shows we have done so little with so much. We should have been in CUSA 10 years ago and be complaining about not being part of the BCS.
