As part of the Louisiana Crossroads series, the UL Wind Ensemble will perform with the Marcia Ball Band at 7 p.m. March 1 in Angelle Auditorium.

Louisiana Crossroads is a concert series, record label and economic development project of the Acadiana Arts Council and the Lafayette Economic Development Authority.

Ball, a native of Vinton is an accomplished pianist and singer. Her recorded debut was Circuit Queen, in 1978.

Her album, Sing It! was released in January 1998 and was nominated for a Grammy. Aside from her own musical styling, Ball also appears as a featured singer with Cajun country legends — the Hackberry Ramblers on their recent Deep Water album, where she makes her recording debut singing in Cajun French.
