I was actually lucky enough to catch the game on TV here in Houston. When I signed up for my cable, I took the Sports option, which added 5 off-the-wall sports channels that mostly play junk. I figured as much, but for an extra $4 a month, I figured what the heck.
As a long shot, I thought I might check those channels after I learned it was being broadcasted in the Denver area, and sure enough. Apparently I have Fox Sports Mountain West, which carried the game. They also show some Sun Belt games from time to time.
Not sure if the altitude had much to do with the fatigue of the Cajuns, but we slowed down significantly after an awesome, fast-paced start. We shot great from the outside, but need to take it to the hole more and get to the line. At the same time, the majority of Denver's points came from inside the paint. I would love to see that stat.
Great morale win, showing we can hold off a comeback. I look forward to the next 2 games and hopefully we can get to .500 on the year in conference play next Saturday night.
Nice to notch another W. I have to think a combo of thin air fatigue and "lead laziness" led to the Denver comeback. Important W.Originally Posted by Zeebart21
Man, that Denver announcer was almost too much to listen to in Jay's background.
I just cancelled that package because i never watched it.Originally Posted by CajunCherokee
Thanks to Mexico and Kal -I didn't know the outcome- and just read your posts, it was intense just reading it.
Get ready for a big week. If that seed is up for grabs at home on Saturday night, and we aren't there to help them hold onto it, we will/should all feel ashamed.
Ragin' Cajuns remain in chase for home playoff game with win
UL's men's basketball team needed a road victory Saturday to keep home-court hope alive, so they went to a familiar face.
David Dees delivered, and because of that the Ragin' Cajuns can still make a home appearance in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
Dees nailed a twisting 17-foot jumper with 0.7 seconds left, snapping a 65-all tie and giving the Cajuns a thrilling 67-65 victory over Denver's Pioneers at DU's Magness Arena.
UL captured its fourth straight league game, but it didn't come easy.
