It wasn't the love of Cajun food that led David Dees to Lafayette, La. It was more the love of his brother, or at least Dees' wish to play college basketball with him.

"That was the plan from late in my freshman year," Dees said. "I thought it would be at Liberty. When I found out I was going to transfer, a lot of schools talked to me ... but it was much more important for me to play with my brother."

David Dees graduated from Dayton Christian in 2003, three years before Stephen graduated from Chaminade-Julienne.

When Liberty didn't work out, the brothers looked for a school that would offer scholarships to a 6-foot-3 shooting guard (David) and a 6-1 defensive specialist (Stephen). They found a match with the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana.

The Cajuns have struggled to an 8-18 record and are 6-9 in the Sun Belt Conference's West Division. But the team has a shot because it plays host to its conference tournament.
