Thread: What Section are you in?

I was one of those Cajun fans in that endzone last year. I was glad to be at the game but basically I had to watch the monitor for most of the game to see what was going on. I am in 311 this year and much happier, but I would have rather sat in plaza seats than the end zone again.

To BillBeck; OK we get it, you are upset. If it is so important that you not sit in the plaza, try to sell your tickets and go buy some more on stub hub or Ticketmaster. You may take a hit, but a Bowl does not come along very often for long suffering Cajun Fans. As much as it cost to get to the game, it would be worth it if this is going to make you so miserable.

Yes. That is how it works. I work in the athletic department at another university, in another state, that has a much bigger booster club than UL and that is how it works. If you want to be sure you are able to get more bowl tickets then buy more season tickets.

EXACTLY. As I stated in another thread earlier.... a quick search on Ticketmaster for "Best Available" seats yields tickets around the 50 yard line of the Club Level on the opposite side. I would be ecstatic with these tickets. There won't be any ECU fans around you cause they will all be in the Plaza level... the only peeps around you will either be Cajun fans or general Football fans and you'd have a great view of not only the game... but of our ENTIRE RAGING CROWD ON THE OTHER SIDE!

    Seriously.

The bowl also gave us 2 section of plaza seats on the ECU side but it was decided by the athletic department and ticket office that it would be a disservice to place our own season ticket holders on the opposite side of the field from our fans and team. And the 301 end zone is the on,y section that they decided to move in between the 20's.

If I would gotten seat on the other side of the field and in the end zone and I would have known that we had a chance to go up and keep all the fans together I would have been ____ed. If I would want to seat next to ECU I would have gone to school there.

Like another post...damned if you do.....damned if you don't. I can understand why they made the choice.

Another thought....what great problems to have!

    Geaux Cajuns!

So I just back my donation down to 15k and buy 5 grand worth of season tickets. Just wondering, this other larger, better athletic department, does it have the 3rd lowest budget in America?

I can't tell you how to spend your money, all I can tell you is how this business is done. Where I work, and at the majority of other universities, the amount you donate to the the athletic foundation does not determine the amount of tickets you are allowed to purchase at bowl time. The amount you donate does however get you better seats.

Where you work, is budget a major issue as it is here? We need to motivate people to join rcaf and maximize their donation to subsidize our budget, apparently we have no problem getting people to go to bowl games. By the way, the gentlemen just said he doesn't even have season tickets, so what's your point?

this whole way of tickets has been highshoolish, hell even ulm figured out how to do online ticket sales, they haven't sold many tickets but at least they didn't have to jump through hoops to do it

No our budget is not a problem, we had a little over 20 million donated to our athletic foundation in the 2012 fiscal year. I agree we need more people to join the rcaf. What we do is charge a "donation fee" per seat for season tickets, the donation per seat varies on where the seat is located. The "donation fee" goes into the athletic foundation and from there we have a point system that ranks the donors.

Wow... comparing us to ULM now are we? Jesus. They've sold what? 5,000 tickets to a bowl game in their backyard?

Dude at first I saw your point, but now it's getting annoying.

Obviously we are doing something right.. we've sold 20k tickets two years in a row to our bowl game. I understand you're mad about where your sitting, but maybe next time reserver your tickets earlier instead of waiting till after we get invited. It was no secret that we were going bowling somewhere... all you had to do was check off NOLA BOWL if that was the only one you would buy tickets for and viola you'd have tickets already.
