No our budget is not a problem, we had a little over 20 million donated to our athletic foundation in the 2012 fiscal year. I agree we need more people to join the rcaf. What we do is charge a "donation fee" per seat for season tickets, the donation per seat varies on where the seat is located. The "donation fee" goes into the athletic foundation and from there we have a point system that ranks the donors.

Wow... comparing us to ULM now are we? Jesus. They've sold what? 5,000 tickets to a bowl game in their backyard?

Dude at first I saw your point, but now it's getting annoying.

Obviously we are doing something right.. we've sold 20k tickets two years in a row to our bowl game. I understand you're mad about where your sitting, but maybe next time reserver your tickets earlier instead of waiting till after we get invited. It was no secret that we were going bowling somewhere... all you had to do was check off NOLA BOWL if that was the only one you would buy tickets for and viola you'd have tickets already.

I like the point system idea but to penalize all rcaf members for a non rcaf non season ticket holder who got seated in the 600's just doesn't make sense, you will alway have a handful of people who are upset.

I found out where we misunderstood each other. I never intended for my message to come across as to fill the orders of non rcaf and non season ticket holders before finishing the request for rcaf members and season ticket holders. If you have, for example 2 season tickets, the at bowl time you request 8, you are originally given the option to buy 2 bowl tickets. Then after all season ticket holders are given the option to purchase bowl tickets equal to the amount of season tickets you have, then the additional tickets requested by donors and season ticket holders would be filled based on the number of priority points they have accumulated over the years. Priority seating is given to those with the highest points but the additional tickets you request might not be in the same section. If you are a non donor and non season ticket holder, we consider you the general public, and the general public will be given the opportunity to purchase tickets through the university only after all the request of donors and season ticket holders have been filled.

I could not disagree with you more. You just don't seem to understand the big picture here. The UL Administration found a way to give great additional value to RCAF membership and/or Season Ticket holders AND to be able to sell over 20k tickets in someone else's stadium in a very short amount of time.

I'm sorry you didn't get the seats you wanted but "highshoolish" is a bit much here.

Imagine if this were the case last year, and the replay shot of Baer's winning kick going through the uprights would not have looked as cool as it did without all the fans going nuts in the endzone as soon as it passed through the uprights. I was thinking about this just last night after I watched the youtube Sportscenter clip again and when they showed the kick, you see a ton of fans in the end zone and it looked absolutely packed!! The funny thing is the opposite end zone was almost completely empty, so if Baer would have been kicking to the other field goal, the replay would not have looked NEARLY AS GOOD as it did.

Believe you me ... If there are empty seats there at the end of the first I'm filling at least
    One of them

Their tickets are also all in the end zone.

Hopefully we get to the point where we need that but with only 10,000 season tickets sold, most of which are corporate packages, I don't think the way they are doing currently is a bad thing. Obviously as the program grows, things will need to change. We only have 1800 rcaf members, we need to do everything possible to encourage joining rcaf. This is only our 2nd bowl, I would hope the process will get better every year. I was just pointing out that the guy hee hawing about the 600's is not in rcaf or a season ticket holder.

I have a Question Re: What Section are you in?

not sure how this happened, but I got the call at 5:02 today. I was close by so I ran to the Cajundome to pick up my 600 level tickets..... they gave me an envelope with 3 tickets in level 140 which are on the home side but on the 25 yard line, 18 rows up........... anybody have any ideas???? oh, and not an RCAF member or anything before you ask....

Give us the full story. Did you turn down your priority seats? How many tickets did you request?
