Too many turnovers...poor shooting...and no help from the bench. Disappointing.
We take Michigan State to the wire, and lose to McNeese and Texas Southern. Wow.
I saw this team play for the first time tonight. Wrongkoski looked really good. Long is a good looking kid but lacked hussle on the court and his body language on the bench and during timeouts looked like he has an attitude problem. We lack dept. There is a big drop off after the starting five. This is just my opinion from one game.
LAKE CHARLES -- The lesson in the loss is in the numbers, and it hasn't nothing to do with Steven Wronkoski's career-high 17 points, Elfrid Payton's 17-point and 10-rebound double-double or even Shawn Long's 17-point, 17-board double-double.
I guess the Cowboys are not impressed with our $400K coach and players he recruited. The score does not represent how dominant the BrokeBacks were last night.
Marlin is not gonna be the guy that takes this program to the next level. Time to quit making excuses for this guy. He's no better than Lee.
Long is fine, will be freshman of the year, and has great attitude, great hustle. Wronkoski will challenge for freshman of the year, both will make all freshman team.
McBrokeBack U is in the top 10 nationally for steals category. So it is not surprising we get a lot of turnover steals that kind of stole the deal last night. Freshman, sophomore laden team do that.
I am not so sure about that? This is a pretty good team with limited junior/senior leadership. Yea, I know he is in his third class, but now he has some nice guys coming in this season, and next year that are a lot better than senior, AMT.
Finally he is our coach for at least the next three seasons, so quit shooting his flanks, and help the players. Maybe you just want to say in three years, see I was right, and of course you will never say Oh, My, I was so wrong.
Dude, what kind of magic do you expect to happen in the next 3 years? I'll be the first to admit I've been wrong, but its not looking like I will be. I'm not saying the guy is a bad coach. Given adequate resources and talent pool I'm sure he could win lots of games. It just seems we need another HUD to be leading the Bball program, not just a good coach but a program builder.
Well, I know he is a great X & O coach, a great defensive coach, and right now we have two really exciting freshman who can score and play defense. Probably both contend for freshman of the year. I know Payton could not hit a free throw last year, but has improved greatly, not a little but greatly, could not hit anything but layups, but again improved greatly. I know that may not be magic, but it is a solid. I know that we have the signed the best player in Acadiana, and a great Texas recruit.
Maybe you want magic, I want a coach who can coach, recruit, and stay on the right side of the NCAA.
Yes, I am worried about all the defections he had his first two seasons, and you know what? Maybe sometimes S!&t just happens. None of those guys were team players, and frankly none deserved more of a role than they had.
I fully expect you to be here when he gets us to the NCAA saying Oh, MY God, how could I be so short sighted, but you won't, I plan on putting you on my watch list to ever hear anything but the negatives, be sure to remind me when you are right, but also be sure to suck it up when you are proven wrong.
And this coming from you, who started this thread out with a negative comment insinuating that we have an overpaid coach with a less than talented team that just got dominated by a small university.
Keep me on your watch list and be sure to call me out when the team starts whipping butt. I'll be glad to admit I was wrong.
