I am a season ticket holder...and a fan of Coach Marlin. I want him to stay and think he can build our program. Don't think he's earned such a raise yet, though. I was surprised by the amount.

Are you concerned he has lost yet another player, one that seems to have been of high moral character.

Losing these guys over and over. Very concerning to me. At some point he has to take ownership of the bad as well as take the credit for the good. This was not a Johnson player, and it is being reported he is not trashing the coaches, but still another gone.

If it is a contractual issue, you are right he has earned it but it doesn't make it worth it.
I didn't say it was worth it or that I agree with it, just stating that if that what was in his contract then he did in fact earn it and waited 2 years for it. I do t think winning the west is worth that bump in pay either, but if that's what was agreed upon, then he should get it.

Please somebody go talk Moss into returning----this is the guy who comes off the bench and drills the 3 at the end of the first half---something that Perez couldn't do for 2 years----And my wife finally got to cheer for a RED NECK----Damn---I liked him---Of course I liked Pierce and Butler and they would never play---man this guy will probably go to McNeese and drill our butt until the series is tied!!!

Boomer, what the defensive issues Moss has, I doubt he goes there as Coach Simmons forte is tough man to man defense. That does not mean Moss cannot develop at the right school. It is unfortunate he did not have the patience to let the staff here develop him.

Moss narrowed his choices to the Cajuns, McNeese State, Winthrop and Ole Miss before signing with the Cajuns. I expect him to land at a mid-to-low-major school.

One thing is for sure. The old, "their a very young team" excuse will always be in play if you continue to lose players every year for whatever reasons. Doesn't the NCAA have a rule about having so many guys quitting/transferring/getting run off every year? Doesn't the NCAA penalize a school with scholarship losses if a certain number of guys who gert offered don't finish?

As far as Marlin earning his raise, there is earning a raise & EARNING what your paid. One may be legally binding according to contract, but the other is ethically doing a good job & becoming a fan favorite because of it. I hear his defenders reaching out to show support & give the benefit of the doubt, but I don't hear a ground swell of love & support for the guy. I love the job HUD has done & he showed he has the ability to rally his team not only in a surprise situation, but also circle the wagons in a tough situation, yet I have been critical of him when I thought it was right to do so because I didn't agree with his decision making.

I can see no reason to give Marlin any benefit of any doubt in any situation as of yet in his stay at Louisiana because he certainly hasn't earned, much less EARNED one yet like the HUD has. For HUD's first two seasons I think he's earned an A+ & a solid B which could turn into an A depending on the New Orleans Bowl. For Marlin a B- his first season followed by a D- his second with a failing grade so far this year certainly doesn't merit a 60% increase in pay with a nice extension to boot by any means. That is not being critically harsh. That is just looking at the facts & making an opinion based on factual observations.

It's called the APR by the NCAA and I'm curious about this as well. With so many defections, it can't be good
