If you are going through Atlanta, the quickest route is through Montgomery. I65 all the way to I10 in Mobile.

Thanks, that's what we will do. I've driven to ECU bowl games in Mobile and Birmingham so I've driven both routes before. Heck I rode Amtrack to Hattiesburg two years ago for a game. Love to watch my Pirates.

Travel question: Our group is driving down and will probably be passing through Atlanta around 10 or 11 pm on the 20th. According to google map going through Montgomery is about 20 minutes or so quicker than going through Birmingham. Any recommendation on which route is better? We are going to find a room about 1 am and catch 4-5 hours sleep before heading on to NO.

Now guys --I thought for sure these guys would want to go see Lafayette!!! Just telling them that Cajun country can better be seen by driving through NO to Lafayette than by going through Baton Rouge!!!
