Someone told me about the Royal House Oyster bar having the best French Onion soup in the city, but we didn't get a chance to try it. My favorite from New Orleans for French Onion soup used to be Houlihan's on Bourbon, but it's been gone for a while.
Still can't believe Houlihans sold out. It was the first place I'd hit for oysters on the half shell when I came home on leave.

Stopped at a place on N Peters called St Lawrence last Friday. They had Poutine on the menu. If anyone is wondering what Poutine is...it's french fries and gravy...and it's amazing. Place had a great beer selection...was drinking Newcastle Werewolf. God I love New Orleans.

Even though it was a chain restaurant, I'd have the oysters & a crock of onion soup every time I went to the quarter.

We stopped in at Hobnobber's for breakfast last year because we were "hongray" and Big Dog convinced us to go in. We have made it a point to stop in for breakfast everytime we are in New Orleans now.
