I was lucky enough not to have a line at ACME about 5:30 on Saturday. Had the charbroiled oysters and the half fish/half shimp platter. Really enjoyed it.

Someone told me about the Royal House Oyster bar having the best French Onion soup in the city, but we didn't get a chance to try it. My favorite from New Orleans for French Onion soup used to be Houlihan's on Bourbon, but it's been gone for a while.

Good choice of a restaurant. It's been a while for me.

We have rented the place for a pregame party the last couple of years.. If we do it again in 2014 (IF we are back in NO) I will pass an invite your way.. You can come with us.. Good times.

Still can't believe Houlihans sold out. It was the first place I'd hit for oysters on the half shell when I came home on leave.

Stopped at a place on N Peters called St Lawrence last Friday. They had Poutine on the menu. If anyone is wondering what Poutine is...it's french fries and gravy...and it's amazing. Place had a great beer selection...was drinking Newcastle Werewolf. God I love New Orleans.

Even though it was a chain restaurant, I'd have the oysters & a crock of onion soup every time I went to the quarter.
