Get cash, go early, Walkers Southern Style Bar B Q on the lake front New Orleans East. Forget it, game time is an hour after they open, but if you get there early Friday, I recommend highly.

Jacques-Imo's (http://www.jacques-imos.com/) Great food, great atmosphere. You walk through the kitchen to get to the dining room, just like at ya Momandems. My favorite is the panee'd rabbit.

Liuzza's (http://www.liuzzas.com/) A good, old-fashioned New Orleans neighborhood joint, right in the middle of Mid-City. Don't get it confused with Liuzza's by the track; this is the real deal. Get a frozen beer or Barq's, and a Frenchuletta. Best onion rings in town.

Angelo Brocatto's (http://www.angelobrocatoicecream.com/) Best place for dessert. Have an espresso and a cannoli.

The Columns Hotel (http://www.thecolumns.com/) No food here, just a great place for a cocktail. An old Victorian mansion on St. Charles, right on the street car line.

ABSOLUTELY. And for anyone who's a fan of Buffalo Wild Wings in Lafayette, they just opened one in Metairie on the corner of Venterans and Severn across from Whole Foods...

Crabby Jack's on Jefferson Highway. Same owner of Jacques-Imo's. You can make a second poboy with the amount of shrimp that will spill out of your poboy when you unwrap it. Not open on Sunday.

Almost forgot: Venezia's (http://www.venezianeworleans.com/) Old-school Italian restaurant. Manicotti, lasagna, chicken parmesan, veal parmesan. You name it, they got it. Right at the corner of Canal and Carrollton in Mid-City, just a couple of doors down from Angelo Brocato's (see above). Have supper at Venezia's, then move over to Brocato's for dessert and coffee.

haven't read thread so it may have been posted but Jimmy J's is super clutch. The chef used to work with Emeril so he knows his ____. It's open 24hrs/day on fri-sat. Serves breakfast food(omelets are amazing) and dinner food as well.
