Restaurants off the beaten path in New Orleans!

Almost forgot: Venezia's (http://www.venezianeworleans.com/) Old-school Italian restaurant. Manicotti, lasagna, chicken parmesan, veal parmesan. You name it, they got it. Right at the corner of Canal and Carrollton in Mid-City, just a couple of doors down from Angelo Brocato's (see above). Have supper at Venezia's, then move over to Brocato's for dessert and coffee.

haven't read thread so it may have been posted but Jimmy J's is super clutch. The chef used to work with Emeril so he knows his ____. It's open 24hrs/day on fri-sat. Serves breakfast food(omelets are amazing) and dinner food as well.

went there for the first time about 2 months ago. Wasn't impressed with the food at all. Will not be going back
