Former city-parish worker sentenced in theft

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A former Lafayette city-parish employee has been sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to pay $420 in fines and restitution after pleading no contest to a theft charge for allegedly cashing a blank money order to the city.

45-year-old Roxanne D. Andrus, of Scott, worked as a sentence coordinator for a court-related program operated by city-parish government. The $160 money order had been paid by someone who had signed up for a rehabilitation class offered through the city.
