    Good. He'll come in, have a great year while his reputation clears up and he'll bolt for a BCS job the next year. I wouldn't even hire him if I was stAte. They are shooting themselves in the foot by hiring these waiting in the wing SEC coaches.

    Been told Taggart is the front-runner at USF, and a deal is expected to be finalized soon.

    As for Chavis, he was a former walk-on offensive lineman at Tennessee and was an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the Vols under Fulmer but has never been a head coach. He feels more comfortable doing what he's doing and avoiding the spotlight. Chavis got canned along with Fulmer at midseason in 2007. He ended up at LSU and has proven to still be a top-notch coach.

    Southern Miss needs to hire someone quickly, so i can stop being nervous everytime ESPN announces a new coach somewhere
