Really looking forward to our matchup in the NO Bowl. I have a great deal of respect for UL and have tried to keep up with your program. We played you regularly when I was in school and I always enjoyed the games. We've matched up ten times and UL leads the series with a 6-4 record. Interestingly, UL holds only a half point edge on the average score over the ten year series. Home field has not offered much advantage as four of the Cajuns six wins were in Greenville and three of the Pirates four wins were in Lafayette.

I may be wrong, but our teams seem to be a mirror image of each other this season. With both having potent offenses and inconsistent defenses, I believe we'll need to buckle up and hold on because this could be a wild ride.

I'm not certain how many Pirates will be in attendance. We usually show pretty well, but the timing for this bowl may be difficult for many considering the distance and competition with holiday travelers for flights. That said, I've already booked my seat and know of several others who have as well.

Here's to an exciting, injury free game. I'll probably be lurking around your board for the next few weeks so I hope you won't mind if I chime in every now and then.

I'm a skeptic on the ticket sales front due to a combo of timing (close to xmas), the distance (its a long ways down there!)

I don't live near Greenville anymore and don't hear much scuttlebutt, so it's hard for me to say. I honestly believe this being our first bowl in NO will help sales a bit. There will be a lot of conflicts with the holidays, though. My wife has family in Greenville and normally I would be there the weekend before Christmas. She is giving me a pass for the game, but only under the condition I leave directly after the game and fly into Greenville. That said, I expect the Pirate faithful will make a pretty respectable showing all things considered. I'll let you know if I hear anything about numbers.

The more I look at the two teams the more excited I get for this game! The match up is incredibly close. The Cajuns, the Pirates, the fans, and the Big Easy, it's tough to get much better than that.
