Jay Johnson was at southern miss under Jeff bower
So the new question is:
Does USM think more highly of Jay Johnson then they do HUD, or is it because HUD somehow made it clear to them that he is not interested and they are moving on to plan B which is Johnson?
This is just speculation, but IMO even if Hud is greatly disappointed in what the administration is not doing, he places himself in a much better spot leaving next season. I would think most of the recruiting hay is ready to be reaped this year, and the conference will still be 1A in 2013 regardless of anything that happens now. Those 1AA schools need at least a year to come in, and then he can make a better gambit for the 2014 season. jmo
USM or Hud would have to buy his contract that was renewed last season. I just think USM is still a long shot for this season. Next season will bring all the opportunities he wants if he is not satisfied with the Wizard, and Farmer.
