I agree with you if NO wasn't willing to wait. I think that is the big unanswered question and appears to be a question that was not asked.

I'm not even using this year as an example.

I'm saying if the SBC offers UL a bowl and UL refuses, then the SBC has fulfilled the obligations of their bylaws.

If you are the NO bowl, would you tell us that you would wait? The only thing they gain by waiting is losing us...so even if they would wait and take us later, they sure wouldn't tell us that. That was there only card to play, is that they wouldn't wait. Also the game being earlier, if they thought they would lose us..a team like asu needs more than 10 days to set everything up. I would imagine the Nola bowl knows that most hotels are booked up, what if cajun fans waited close to the 72 hour cancelation time? You would have no rooms available, it would be a nightmare for them. So if I was the Nola bowl, I would have said we aren't waiting...you either take the invite or we are moving on.

Its up to the school to accept those opportunities or not. See La Tech last year.......So you can be on your own if you choose to be....Like La Tech last year
In this case, we are talking about UL and its recent decision. Again, I don’t think I could have explained it any better the first time. And no matter how many times you want to throw the Louisiana Tech scenario out there because it seems to be the fall back position for those of you that just don’t get it, UL would not had to declined NO Bowl. Benson and UL would have simply requested another week before giving the NO Bowl an answer on the invitation, allowing the Independence Bowl the opportunity to put together a tangible offer with numbers. Arkansas State would not have been flipped to the NO Bowl without UL accepting an offer from the Independence Bowl according to Roy Lang’s sources. As I said, we’ve made our decision and there is no major fallout period.

We all have our opinions in this matter, so I'll give mine.

There has been nothing, I am sorry, NOTHING, ever, I am sorry, EVER, done by the Sun Belt office OR the Independence Bowl for UL that would make me have ANY faith in their "promises".

We should all be in 100% agreement with that statement! Let's move on and talk about winning the championship this weekend. Cajun fans will have a great time at the NO Bowl again while we take care of Tulane.

I agree, if I am NO Bowl, I say no I need an answer now especially with the game only 3 weeks away. But we should have at least asked, then when they say no you can say you based your decision on solid facts not guesswork. The only thing I'm upset with in this is the way the Admin just seems to make arbitrary decisions without exploring all the options much like them deciding not to even contact CUSA when opportunities opened. It's a distressing pattern of poor decision making. It doesn't give me much hope for the future.
