Thread: Tech=no bowl

I haven't read through all the Latex bashing threads, but I just wanted to put something out there.

Why would a 3rd place team from a weaker conference be more deserving of a bowl bid than the runner-up team from a stronger conference?

Please slow down on the bashing. I haven't been able to catch up on my Ragin' Pagin reading. Damn work gets in the way.

Middle is looking at two schools they beat head to head going to bowl games while they sit at home. At least Tech doesn't have to deal with that problem.

At least they didn't win their last two games and get left out of the BCS game. That woulda sucked.

The bulk of them are sheep. I don't know if sheep are arrogant or passionate.

MONEY ... help me help you. GREEN means you get to GO.

We are in the New Orleans Bowl because we make money for the New Orleans Bowl ... they don't care if we are 12-0 or 6-6 as long as we buy the tickets and go.

I don't label all Tech supporters as arrogant, but a good number have been. As for LSU, they have national championships in a number of sports, Tech on the other hand has played in 6 bowl games in the last 30 years. Hardly the tradition of a southern power.

NIU had to give tickets away for the 2008 Indpendence Bowl and the Cajuns would have been there in mass will bells on. Go figure.
Yes, but the university is giving tickets they pay for. There is no free lunch brother, you know that. The Indy bowl got the revenue regardless of who does the paying. Anyway how much can fifty tickets cost?

So there is a poster who takes umbrage at Tech and their fan base being referred to as "arrogant"?? Well..........I'm listening to Monn Graffon, who has the Chairman of Independence Bowl on. He just CONFIRMED that the FIRST emial from Tech's AD said they were open to Indy Bowl on condition they would NOT play a SunBelt school! Moon asked him if it was "normal" that a school dictate to a bowl who they would play. He was told an emphatic NO! Moon was then told that when the bids went out to Both ULM and Tech, that Tech's AD said he would have to "get back to him".....He NEVER did, which the Indy Bowl chairman said is a NO! The chairman was then asked if it was true they could've gotten Ohio on Sunday, as Tech claimed. Once again, NO--they had to book them on SATURDAY to ensure they would get a "QUALITY" team.
Soooooooooo...........was this 'arrogance" on Tech's part????.....

Why am I thinking that we did not ask the NO BOWL to send a letter to CUSA even with a little comparison of what we did for them in comparison of the TECH INDY relationship----They do so much more than we ever think of and that is what upsets me with the conference situation!!!
