No, if Tech gets to play Purdue in Dallas, it will be because they were willing to risk sitting at home in order to pursue a higher goal. Anything worth having always involves taking risks. La Tech goes out on a limb regularly and it has paid off for them. We take the safe road and now we sit in a conference that is sinking into irrelevance. We can criticize them all day long, but the truth is, La Tech will have once again gotten what they reached for.
I am not mad at Middle, I just do not want my competitor to get anything. They IMO are already CUSA and therefore am happy a CUSA team gets left out.
What don't you get about that? It is not saying UL would not have done the same thing.
Liberty? Unless they have a knockout team, they just lost their financial butts. I mean I get Ole Miss, but Iowa State? ESPN has their dirty fingers all over this.
Independence Bowl? ULM over LTU? Knowing LTU will almost without doubt not play ULM. Could it be LTU really had another bowl already locked up they preferred. We will know if they go bowling over 350 miles from home and not a big time bowl.
Would we have? After reading Farmers interview I am not sure we would have. He talks about being completed shocked by Middle leaving and that teams in the belt had talked about sticking together. What if we would have gotten the first call by cusa? Would we have taken it?
WKU and MTSU beat writers just tweeted that there will be a vote by conf members at 3:30 to decide who the SBC will send to Little Ceasars Bowl. ..........wonder how that will work out for Middle? Ha. Furthermore, if Middle gets left out, that means Ga Tech and WKu got in......both teams that middle beat on the road.
I do not hold any ill will toward Middle. We, at least we fans...not sure about our scared of their shadow admin, would have jumped at the opportunity
It seems that the question of whom fills the Liberty/GoDaddy/Little Caesar's/Military etc. hinges on the final BCS ... whether Northern Illinois finishes #16 and knocks Oklahoma out of a BCS spot ... or not. ASU's best shot at the Liberty seems to be NIU finishing outside of the BCS Top 16.
