Should be a shootout.. our team is pretty awful in man coverage and rarely in the right spot to make the play. The key will be whether we can get pressure on your QB with our blitz packages- and to be honest, against dual threat QBs we tend to struggle. Our DC tends to stick with his scheme and won't adjust if it isn't working. The key player on D to watch will be our NT Terry Williams. He is a 320 behemoth in the middle and causes quite a bit of disruptions, including a punt block ...
We have a pretty potent offense.. our WR core is deep. We have several slot guys that can really make you pay - watch out for Danny Webster coming along the back of the endzone line in red zone situations. We also have special packages for our 6"8 wide out Justin Jones (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BcVk62egS0). At RB, we really rely on Vintavious Cooper to grind out yardage - if he's running well you'll hear the Pirate Nation yelling "Coooooooop". Our QB Shane Carden - who can run pretty well but is dangerous when he is rolling out of the pocket and throws. He is pretty solid but only a Soph. The key player to watch on O is our WR Justin Hardy. The kid walked on and earned a scholarship and is an animal over the middle for us (here is him taking over the Marshall game http://bluewaterpirate.phanfare.com/5846321_6670962). If we are in a must drive situation - #2 Hardy will more than likely be getting the ball.
In Summary - we are pretty stout on O and pretty awful on D. Makes for some fun games for fans to watch but leaves little margin for error. I wasn't all that excited about playing in NOLA but the more I read on your forums and how your team played this year the more excited I get. Looking forward to great food, an awesome crowd, and (hopefully) a hard fought victory for my Pirates!
