Should be a shootout.. our team is pretty awful in man coverage and rarely in the right spot to make the play. The key will be whether we can get pressure on your QB with our blitz packages- and to be honest, against dual threat QBs we tend to struggle. Our DC tends to stick with his scheme and won't adjust if it isn't working. The key player on D to watch will be our NT Terry Williams. He is a 320 behemoth in the middle and causes quite a bit of disruptions, including a punt block ...

We have a pretty potent offense.. our WR core is deep. We have several slot guys that can really make you pay - watch out for Danny Webster coming along the back of the endzone line in red zone situations. We also have special packages for our 6"8 wide out Justin Jones (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BcVk62egS0). At RB, we really rely on Vintavious Cooper to grind out yardage - if he's running well you'll hear the Pirate Nation yelling "Coooooooop". Our QB Shane Carden - who can run pretty well but is dangerous when he is rolling out of the pocket and throws. He is pretty solid but only a Soph. The key player to watch on O is our WR Justin Hardy. The kid walked on and earned a scholarship and is an animal over the middle for us (here is him taking over the Marshall game http://bluewaterpirate.phanfare.com/5846321_6670962). If we are in a must drive situation - #2 Hardy will more than likely be getting the ball.

In Summary - we are pretty stout on O and pretty awful on D. Makes for some fun games for fans to watch but leaves little margin for error. I wasn't all that excited about playing in NOLA but the more I read on your forums and how your team played this year the more excited I get. Looking forward to great food, an awesome crowd, and (hopefully) a hard fought victory for my Pirates!

PH, thanks for the report. Change the names and it would come pretty close to a description of the Cajuns. Reading the ECU boards, I think your comments in bold fit your base. I don't think they were initially impressed, but those who do any research are changing their opinion.

What you are telling us is bet the over! That summary could almost be used to summarize our team as well. Each QB could have 500+ yards passing this game.

Depends on the spread.. I'm guessing the over is going to be set pretty high for this one. I agree, our teams look eerily similar though. As with most games of this nature - it will probably come down to turnovers.

Edit: Any good highlight videos of you guys season thus far.. or at least your best game? Bluewaterpirate's website I posted earlier (http://bluewaterpirate.phanfare.com/2012/) usually has the big moments from our games throughout the season.

Looks like he's still down East http://www.trulia.com/voices/profile...tte_NC-592483/. Don't know him as I'm from Raleigh and work/live in Charlotte now. Glad to call you guys Louisiana (UL) so long as you don't call us Eastern Carolina.

Looking forward to meeting a bunch of ECU fans in the Big Easy. Trust us when we say that you will not meet a better opposing group of fans anywhere else in the country. Good Luck and enjoy your time in NOLA.

On his show the following Monday he talked about the "nice scenery" and announced there was now two schools they would visit each year, Georgia and ECU....true story. Unfortunately, his show ended over supposedly an in-house dispute, too bad, it was a great show.
