I understand we were to sign 18. Are they still a couple yet to sign? Also... what happened to Jeremy Cook? According to RIVALS, he has Southern Miss, Ole Miss and Tulane now listed... in addition to the Cajuns.

With UL's football staff having only 17 scholarships to work with, making the most of every one was vital. That's probably why Cajun head coach Rickey Bustle was smiling so much over the last week. "We had a big lineman in Mandeville (Kyle Plouhar) that had Michigan State and Purdue walk through his door last week," Bustle said. "He didn't even talk to them. We had a big lineman in Florida (Jaron Odom) that Arizona walked in on, and he told them he was going to be a Cajun." Bustle had several similar success stories to tell a crowd of nearly 500 supporters Wednesday evening at UL's annual recruiting bash at the Townhouse Restaurant. "When you're dealing with only 17 scholarships, it's hard," Bustle said. "We left some good football players on the board, some that signed other places today. I too am happy with the signing class. Yeah I would like to continue to see more young men from this area, but I understand wanting the best player. As coach has said, Two athletes having equal talent and abilities we are going to offer the hometown man everytime. I like that as these men bring friends to the Cajun Basin and this creates fans which is what we always welcome!

I feel the coaches have filled their needs. As he said we have redshirted many players the past two years and this will hopefully transpire into WINS!!
