Personally, I want ECU because of the number of fans that they will bring. On the other hand, Rice will be easier to beat.
Either way, I'm happy!

Don't care, just so we win!
Like the Fish says, just win baby, win.
It is not like either will ever give us a home and home. Hell Rice won't even play us at their home because we kicked them real bad the last time we met.
I'd love it to be a great game with a huge crowd that smashes every New Orleans Bowl record, in attendance and in ratings. But at the end of the day, the only thing I REALLY want is a win. I know, I know, you want to play the best so you can beat the best. And if that happens, then so be it. But the bottom line is for recruiting and the future moving forward past the bowl, I want whoever we're more likely to beat, whoever that is. If it's a great game, you can always say "remember the 2012 New Orleans Bowl" even if we lose. But after the emotion's died down and a coach is sitting in a living room this spring, a recruit or a booster are going to be less impressed with a great game that's a loss than they are with consecutive New Orleans Bowl wins.
CajunEXPRESS brings up a great point as well. I'd love to get (at least semi-) regular games going with one or both of those schools. It's unlikely to happen, but that would be great. We should be playing teams at the top of the mid-level conferences and teams at the bottom of the big conferences. What I'd give to get Kentucky on the schedule...
Naaahh...ECU is the tougher of the two and I wanna whip that sss..
Z
CUSA is worst conference in nation. We'll be just fine with either
ECU, a victory over them at this point will give us more street cred!
Rice is better for the bad jokes and pun factory. I mean Cajuns and Rice will leave no shortage of material for the ESPN posters that will be made.
Bring on the Pirates!

"If UCF defeats Tulsa in the league title game, ECU will head to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., to compete against a to be determined opponent at The Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl on Friday, Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. If the Golden Hurricane top the Knights, the Pirates will face Louisiana-Lafayette inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome at the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl at 12 noon (ET) on Saturday, Dec. 22."
I want to watch the Cajuns defeat ECU in front of a record-breaking New Orleans Bowl crowd!!
Oh, what a sweet victory that would be!
Go Cajuns!
ECU
Do not care who the Cajuns put a whipping on as long as I am there.
