Thread: ONLY BUY TICKETS THROUGH THE UL OFFICE

Boomer I'm pretty everyone on here knows to buy tickets through UL
we need to get the word out to EVERYBODY through the media to make sure to buy tickets through UL

also the way I see the situation. They are NOT limiting the number of people you can bring with and sit next to. You can group however much people you want with you, however if you bring that much you probably won't get the PREMIUM SEATING. The limitation is just so you don't get a group of 200 in the best seats, when say 90% of them don't contribute to RCAF

This is just the way I see it though

We are trying to reserve our tickets right now, but we're having to jump through a million hoops to do it!! My group is made up of about five $1000+ RCAF members and each of us have at least 10 season tickets to football, not to mention basketball, baseball, etc. Why is there a limit to how many tickets that you can buy? We should not be putting limitations on ticket sales. Last year we were able to block off 50, 60, 70 tickets to accomodate our friends and family members giving us the assurance that we'd at least be in the same section. This year with my level of RCAF, my season tickets, etc, I'm only able to get 12....that's it!! I've already talked to quite a bit of donors that are just going to wait until they go on sale to the public and buy any quantity that they want..no restrictions.

My question: WHY PUT LIMITATIONS ON TICKETS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE DOME HAD ABOUT 20,000 OPEN SEATS LAST YEAR???

FYI. I will buy my tickets through UL becasue I understand the concept, I just think this limitation is a croc of _____!
UL is NOT limiting the number of tickets you can purchase. You are guaranteed the amount requested. They are limiting the number of "priority seats" based on your RCAF donation. I think that is fair. Simple solution to those "friends, family members, and casual fans", join the RCAF to move up your spot in the line. Otherwise, get to the back of the bus.

Again, I think the way its being done this year is more than fair for all.

I just know that you can go to the N.O. Bowl website and get the quantity you need. You'll also be able to go on to ticketmaster or stubhub and do the same when available....now I'm not promoting this, I'm just confused. We can't look at it as "we need to make sure our "brass" are seated comfortably and have their priority", we should be selling as many as we can sell...LARGE QUANTITIES, no restrictions. If you want a 100 get a 100!
You can buy as many as you want, you just can't block off a bunch of the premium seats (what they should be called to avoid confusion).

From ragincajuns.com: "RCAF donors can purchase as many tickets as desired, but the number of priority seats will be determined by their 2012 Annual Fund donation as of 12-6-12. Visit RCAF4UL.com for donor benefits and how to make a donation."

An email response from Matt Casbon:
    Subject: RE: NO Bowl
There is not a limit on what you can purchase. There is a limit on your
    priority seats.

Thanks for all the info and I agree with Duggie. Concerts sell out almost all the time and FAST. You should be able to get'em as long as they got'em....

And yes, you have to be proactive. We booked (Discounted Rate) rooms almost a month and a half ago. I hope people aren't mad at me because we did block off about 30 rooms at the Intercontinental and another 20 at the Hilton. Good thing there weren't limits on room reservations....

The difference is, you don't donate money to the intercontinental. UL athletics is subsidized by donors, and therefore must cater to donors.

We're in the same boat as you Scott. Unfortunately, its a choice of whether I want great seats with a small group of my crew or worse seats with my entire group. I'm choosing the latter since I think most seats in the first and second level will be decent

What we ended up doing Doc, is that we do have the five main guys in our group who are mid level type RCAF donors, so we sent in our order forms together with our names and levels/ticket allotments. I think we're able to get close to the number that we needed which is about 30 or so...I hope it works

Ah ok, might be worth trying. I think y'all have more donors than my crew but we'll see

And you can get however many you want from UL as well; you just can't get the PRIORITY SEATING AREA, which is limited!

Don't misread the information, you are only limited to the number of PRIORITY TICKETS.
