Thread: Please be nice! Buying Tickets

OK. I am completely confused. I was told that you can request as many tickets as you want and will be granted those tickets however, depending on your RCAF donation level, there would only be a certain amount of priority seats that are guaranteed to be together and in as prime of a position as possible. In other words, you could go in and reserve 25 tickets but if you are a $1,000 donor and are given only 8 priority seats, you would get the 25 tickets but only 8 would be located together and located in a more desirable viewing area. Is this wrong?

We were trying to get 16 tickets together with 3 RCAF members but we all wanted to sit together without it being in upper deck. So, we were told the best way to get them as close together as possible is to have all 3 donors request their max number of priority tickets and staple the reservation forms together and turn in at one time. They said this was the best way to try to get all together but they could not guarantee they would be together and that was from Shivaun.

ONE lady working when there should be 10? Does the university NOT know they should try to keep ticketholders happy with requests for tickets? Its too easy to go to an online ticket hub to get tickets.

The ticket office got hammered with so many complaints last year that this is their attempt at CYA. I think they will make every efort to accomodate all requests, but in case they don't, they have that statement to fall back on.

It seems to me that there has to be a better way. I'm not sure I have the answer, but I think they are making this hard on themselves.

That was their reasoning and it makes sense as I know there were large groups of people in prime spots when there could have been other RCAF donors in those seats as well. My only question was how did they get to abuse that though as I remember there was an 8 ticket limit for reservation for any RCAF donors last year so how did some of these people get 50+ tickets together?

    So far, so good.

I sent an email to Matt today that had scanned copies of my ticket application and proof of RCAF membership today. I requested that he acknowledge reciept so that I could be sure the attachment went through. He has already emailed back to let me know he got it. Makes me feel beter about the whole deal.

Last year the ticket office allowed individuals to request as many tickets as they wanted and they were accommodation by putting all those seats together. Seats were given out based on RCAF donations.

This year, you can still request as many tickets as you want. BUT if you want your priority seats, you are only guaranteed the number based on your RCAF donation level. The balance of the seats requested will be in a different section. If you want to forgo your priority seats, you can get all tickets together but you are assigned seats AFTER the RCAF priority seats are assigned.

This is how I understand it will be done.

That is what I understand also. Matt sent me an email saying as much.

There's a 20 person suite and a 40 person suite. Cost of the suite doesn't include tickets, then you must buy from the caterer.
