It's not like Vernon Davis is having an All-Pro season. He's got 35 catches for 487 yards and five touchdowns. That's good, but not great. For instance, Jimmy Graham is having an injury-plagued, down season and he's got 51 catches for 562 yards and eight scores. But Saints' fans are still having nightmares from last year's playoff game where Davis exploded for seven catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns. In fact, in the memory of many Saints' fans, he single-handedly beat the Saints last year. All stats and memories aside, Davis is still a big factor in controlling the 49ers' passing game. Either way, coach Jim Harbaugh does with the quarterback situation, the 49ers still aren't great at wide receiver, so Davis is crucial.
