I agree with the sentiment here. Our web presence is pretty terrible, especially from a merchandising standpoint. We NEED to have a better official store online, and when we're doing something like this auction to raise money, it HAS to be featured on every page on our website. We were told at the focus groups 6 months ago that they were "working on it" when it came to a new site and a new official store for UL merchandise online...color me unimpressed thusfar.
They have raised $10, 706 so far.
I'm wondering if the seniors get to keep thiers. I think that would be nice. The grin on Gauthier's face when he first saw it is priceless.
You can still get a degree in Merchandising at UL as far as I know. Why not let those kids develop the storefront and figure out how to manage the inventory?
It seems clear to me now that the plan is to further develop the ragincajuns.com storefront and abandon the UL bookstore storefront. Good idea, but it needs to get out of limbo pronto.
The people in charge should take a trip to Houston and check out the UT Coop Store in Uptown Square. That is what a university merchandise store should be like. Maybe one day UL can have something similar at the athletic complex open 7 days a week. I hope they make it part of the Master Plan.
