Any news since the dead period ended? Any news of how the new coaches are when it comes to recruiting?

UL's football coaching staff will have only a handful of prep recruits, many of them defensive back prospects, taking official visits to the campus this weekend.
Coach Rickey Bustle has nine verbal commitments for his 16 available scholarships, and cited that as the reason for the small numbers.
"It's really different being limited to this number," Bustle said. "It's not nearly what we've been using, and it went really fast for a while so we're down to only a few spots."
UL actually has 18 available scholarships, but two are already committed to linebacker and current squadsman Antwyne Zanders and spring enrollee defensive back Frantz Accime.

The big 3 star OL from the same HS that another commitment (Odem) is from might be one of the players visiting this weekend. This guy is getting many offers and would be a great pick up. He also played in the East/West HS all-star game.

Here is a link to a 2 star kicker from Opelousas. He is awaiting an offer from Notre Dame but if they don't come through we may have a very good shot at him.
I understand Odom has been working on him(Curry) pretty good. I can remember a time not too long ago when prospects like this would not even give us a sniff. Can you imagine out O-line in the next few years with Odom, Curry, Plouhar...etc...? D.amn...Originally Posted by J-Town Cajun
Progress is being made. Obviously not as fast as some of us would like, but we are progresssing nonetheless!

Curry is not eligible right now, so he did not get offered by Marshall. The Cajuns have offered him the same opportunity as Accime, to enroll this fall and sign in the spring. He has not accepted, so with might hear something different this week.Originally Posted by J-Town Cajun
FYI.....That high school has four D1 prosepcts this year on its Oline according to Scout. They have a guy that is rated much higher than Curry and Odom named Kevin Bryant. Coach Jenkins evidently has done a great job of establishing his presence there.Originally Posted by Zeebart21
I wonder if this is why he "fell off" the Florida Top-100 list. He was on there last week; but when I looked again today I couldn't find his name. Would be a nice pickup for our program, even if he gray-shirted.Originally Posted by CajunGuru
