I heard the city is building a new cable car line from the French Quarter to the Dome for the Superbowl ... I wonder if it will be ready for the NO Bowl?

If you want to really experience the NO Bowl stay where the team stays....last year it was the Marriott on Canal. The team members are in the lobby...the big screen was playing constantly with season highlights....all the events start from the host hotel. It is worth an extra money you might have to pay because you will spend it in taxis going to and from the Mariott if you dont stay there. I would have to assume because of its size that they will stay there again. We were at the Royal Sonesta last week and I had my Ragin Cajun shirt on...the man who put our bags in the car said.....we all sure hope the Cajuns come back this year (they made alot of money)!! I just thought it was neat that he remembered a year later.
4 at the Marriott! Hope the team stays there again.
Crowne plaza!....

Used some Marriott Rewards points I still had from my work travels a couple years ago. Booked 2 nights at Marriott on Canal for $60 total.

Also, because I was unable to attend the game last year, I'm allowed to have more fun than the rest of you this go-round.
Booked 2 nights at Hyatt with visa points. Cost = $0. Only 38,000 points. Will notify Hyatt to stock more liquor this year. They ran out of Gin last year..
To hedge my bet, I booked a room a month ago for the New Olreans Bowl at the Hotel Intercontinental @$139 with the right to cancel (I also booked Mobile). I called tonight to rebook/change the reservation to the "New Olreans Bowl Website Special" @$89 and "they didn't have any of those rooms left". But, she could offer me a much better room @119 with the right to still cancel. I took the $119 offer but, I told her "Charlie Brown" would call tomorrow and try to book a $89 New Olreans Bowl room. She laughed....I didn't...I WILL CALL. If she told me the truth I don't have a problem.
Charlie Brown
Stayed at the Wyhndam on Barrone last year...it was really nice. My buddies stayed at the Astor Crowne Plaza and loved it. I booked 2 nights at the W for this trip...I've never stayed there but I've heard nothing but good things...going for $105 a night with a thanksgiving discount on hotels.com. I would assume that it will be relatively easy to get a room being that it will be Christmas weekend and there are no conventions and saints will be in Dallas. Unless of course I'm wrong haha
FYI, hotel deals are here

Not sure if anyone here uses priceline but i just shipped a 4 star hotel (Hyatt Regency) on Loyola for $90/nt. I'm sure there are still a few available.
