Yes, I can see it already, and it is perfect for this time of the season, the Cajun Clause! Our new commissioner and the NO Bowl committee are going to make sure the 2 for 4 rule doesn't keep us from New Orleans!

And the commissioner is working on the right bowl for the right team ... excellent for the Sun Belt!

GEAUX CAJUNS! ... and Go Troy!

So this article has made all my crew suddenly wake up about a bowl game. Half of them have now booked. Like a bowl game wasn't an option before today....WTF?

Here's a tip for those of you that want to make some "just in case" hotel reservations in New Orleans:

If you try to book any of the deals through the New Orleans Bowl website, it will probably say that the rooms you requested are not available. I thought that was strange, so I called the hotel. They were easily able to give me the bowl deal. Not sure why the website isn't working for this rates.

Astor Crown Plaza for $85/night...you can't beat that.

We stayed at the Hilton Riverside last year. It was great, but seemed to be a long way from the Superdome. We liked that they had a parking garage. Do any of the other hotels closet to the dome have a parking garage or on site parking? All of the "valet parking" that I've seen at the hotels in the area is at least $30 a day and I have no idea where they bring the cars. I imagine that it's pretty far away and they cram them in like sardines. Just curious. Thoughts?

I may be in the minority here...

I love the NOLA bowl. It's easy access for our fans. It's a great time to be had by all. Yada yada yada...

    But.
Why not diversify? Why not show that we can send 20K+ somewhere else? Mobile or Shreveport maybe?

But then again maybe it's just me...

Just called Astor Crowne Plaza....all booked up for the $85 a night rooms are all gone. Got a room at the JW Marriot on Canal for 109 a night...not bad.

I wonder if we will have an even bigger turnout in New Orleans the second time around? Weren't we around the 40,000 mark? I already have my room booked! Since I'm part of the RCAF this year can I get better seats? Last year I ordered through the university as instructed and ended up in the endzone.
