He will get a bump of $10,000-$15,000 for a certain average attendance that I cannot recall but I'm pretty sure we've averaged it even though you are correct in that our attendance actually shrunk quite a bit this year. Personally, I feel the bump we gave him last year should be sufficient as he is the second highest paid coach in our conference. He has certainly breathed new life into our program and I know, for the most part, the fans have loved having him here but I'd say we need to win that championship first before we start throwing more money at him
I think we stand pat with the current contract terms. He's gone from $180K to $360K to $760K in two years. Not too shappy!

For those worried about teams such as Southern Miss taking Hud away from us, I will refer back to my many previous post on the subject. We all know that Hud is a southern coach and an SEC man. His coaching ways are the same as the top SEC teams, control the clock with the running game and physically dominate the opponent. I had an inside source the last two years, a co-workers nephew who was on the team, and he told us what Hud told the team. Basically, Hud will only leave UL for his dream job, which we all know is a head coaching position in the SEC.
I don't want the man to do anything. I don't blame him one bit.
I want the university/rcaf to not pay the man extra for averaging 20,000 fans. Weather, Tuesday games, whatever, it's a step back.
We are averaging 23,300 with bad weather for 2 games, and a Tuesday game.... With a game to go. When have we ever even been close to that before HUD stepped on campus?
I don't think anybody is questioning what Hud has done for our program so I'm not sure where you are going with your point. However, to play devil's advocate for a moment, last week's game was the best weather we've had for any game on a beautiful day and LSU playing earlier in the day and we don't hit 20,000. Also, when you compare to last year when we averaged nearly capacity crowds, there is a big dropoff to this year. That is all that was being translated.
For the population of Lafayette parish and number of students who attend university 22k is lil low! Not complaining; compared to what it's been only a few short years ago.
