What concerns me is the decision to start Tillman in the first game after many practices. What did the coaches see or not see to start him

This is obviously something to ask the staff. Just as puzzling is the decision to start Thomas at CB in the bowl game when he hasn't really played significant minutes all year. I'm not sure if there was an injury there or what but that was kind of odd to me. He made a couple of nice plays and showed his potential but also showed his experience, or lack thereof, as he gave up a couple of huge plays, one of which he simply misjudged the ball badly on a long pass

Best of luck to him. They've got a good thing going there. Also saw that Micah Eugene, formerly of Acadiana High and then LSU, transferred to SLU as well. If I'm remembering right, he could've been among Hud's first signees but he wanted the bright lights. What could have been, I suppose.

Surprising to see that a Tulane DL who had success against us in the NO Bowl is also tranferring to SLU. I wonder if academic struggles are an issue there but I have no idea if that is the case. I would not be surprised if that played a role with Micah Eugene leaving LSU.

Also that Jordan Batiste kid is transferring from Tulane to SLU. He had a good NO bowl game. Wonder what's the reason for his transfer.

Interesting to see how Landor handles the situation there. They have Bennett who doesn't seem to be losing his spot at all for the next year. I don't know who is behind him besides Landor but he is not guaranteed anything at this point, certainly not this year which seems to possibly put him in the same boat he was in here.

I agree ... I don't see the grass any greener over there ... unless he is excited to play for an fcs championship, or whatever the divisions are called now.

Landor may believe he can be the primary backup this year and the starter next year. He may play quite a bit as the primary backup as SLU is likely to have a few blowout wins.

Landor wanted to transfer to Southern, Hud would not release him to play in Baton Rouge. Southeastern was his second choice.
