Also when you hear bowl payout numbers just remember, this is potential value.

On paper SDSU had the same payout as UL last year.

A bowl would achieve a bigger payout by giving more tickets at a higher percentage of face value to a school. If they allot you 10K $50 tickets at face value that is a $500K payout. Giving you 20K of the same tickets would make it a $1MM payout, but you only get what you sell in either case.

We negotiated the additional take on the extra 9K tickets we sold above allotment last year.

The I bowl may have the cajuns picked as their #1 choice. If tech doesnt go there, they dont want ULM winning in their town therefore, cajuns are picked. I'd rather snub the I-bowl like they did us in 2008. I-bowl only as a last resort.

Indy Bowl: "Congrats, Cajuns. You are invited to play Louisiana Tech in our marvelous bowl in beautiful, downtown Shreveport."

Cajuns: "Why, thank you; but we have a policy not to play bowl games against schools from lesser conferences. We have decided to accept a bid to the Grits n Gravy Bowl in Possum Trot, W VA. The matchup there with Northeastern Southwestern Wyoming Junior College is just too attractive to pass up."

I think the ole G n G Bowl is a pay to play bowl, but with a certain level of prestige attached to it. I think the folks in Shreveport would understand our decision.

---Better Yet ---Well we might consider playing but not against somebody like TECH!!!! How about a MAC team that could give more TV exposure???? This is what I think would catch their eyes and MEMORY!!!

Playing a MAC school is like having relations with Rosie O'donnel. It technically qualifies as sex, but my God man, do we have to?
I think we would pretty much all agree on N.O. but i'd much rather Mobile than Shreveport. Also, like VO said, I'd rather play a MAC school and get a chance to really break down some of these perception barriers. Also, the better MAC teams play a very exciting brand of football that would likely make for a great game
