I can assure you guys that the more bowl talk that happens on this board prior to us finishing the season, the more meaningless bowl we're going to. Talk about distracting, putting cart before horse, etc..bad juju. Let the kids finish the season on a winning streak before all the distracting talk--South Al and FAU are both quite capable of spoiling everything. The less bulletin board material for our opponents, the better.
Just my two cents.

We are going to a bowl regardless. We are fans. We have the luxury of looking forward to futures opponents whether it's next week or next year. It's HUD's job to keep the team focused (as I expect he will). Relax guys. Enjoy the bowl talk and these next 2 games.

BOP - IF Troy beats MTSU, the cajuns beat USA, and Ole Miss loses could you see bowl invitations going out a week early? This would guarantee ASU at least a share of the conference championship.

It's possible, in fact, probable that some bowl bids will go out next week. There aren't a ton of games around the country on Dec. 1.

We'll know by the weekend whether the Liberty is open and that begins the domino effect.

I can't guarantee we'll know during the week, but if I were a betting man I would say yes...provided we win Saturday.

Sure did. You mention Mobile or New Orleans if we are 7-5 or 8-4. I'm asking about the specific scenario where New Orleans has to choose between an 8-4 UL or SBC Champion Ark State.

I went to the Tech board. Many there are quite confident they will be in either the Liberty Bowl or the new bowl in Dallas. They view the Independence Bowl as somewhat of a letdown. I imagine that view is a result of their loss on Saturday.

If they opt for the Dallas bowl over Shreveport while simultaneously claiming the Shreveport market and at the same time allow ULM to end up bowling there, they are more idiotic than anyone ever could have imagined ever. They need to go to Shreveport if for nothing else to try to send ULM to someplace far away in an attempt to hinder the growth of a fanbase. I personally don't care, and think it'd be better for ULM to make inroads in Shreveport and start really taking on Techs mojo, but if Tech and their fans think this is a good idea, they are simply put imbeciles.

There's a big question as to whether Dallas would have an opening. I don't think they will if Purdue beats Indiana this week. And Arkansas State gets the Liberty before Tech does because they'll sell a lot more tickets.

To answer the question above, I don't know if a 7-5 or 8-4 UL trumps a 9-3 ASU for New Orleans . Since both teams were in the contract bowls last year, they may flip flop them.

Or, both could be in the same spot.

Interesting question.......my prediction is they'll have two repeats if asu can't get to Liberty
