I know Dan said a while back that we were given more tickets and better quality. Anybody know the exact number more than 18,500? Because I keep seeing people post that they heard we sold well over 18k.
Buying through ticketmaster is the same as not buying any. If we're talking about supporting UL and bettering our chances at bowl games in future you've got to buy through UL
Supported UL last year .... Asking for aisle seats due to a physical Limitation. Not granted... And was told up front such accommodation was not "guaranteed". Had to make duplicate purchase on site when seeing the seats in the middle of the row. UL missed Two sales. .... The 2nd on site one and THIS years when the same "no guarantee" advisement was issued when I called. They were aware of that problem from last year but evidently did not fix it THIS year
So, I think it will not matter in the end. UL is allocated so many tickets period. Last year we sold all the tickets we were allocated and we will again this year. In the end everyone who goes to the game supports UL, and should not be chastised for buying them from whereever makes the most sense for themselves. Probably a good place to buy quality seats would be though ECU.
No, I'm almost certain that the number of allocated tickets is negotiated between the bowl and team. I think with UL they kept 100% of the proceeds of the 1st 10,000 sold (which was the standard allotment) and then negotiated a 50/50 split for the next allotment. My numbers could be off though. If UL wanted another allotment they could just ask the NO Bowl for more and negotiate the amount of tickets and the profit split. But UL is on the hook for selling those tickets so they don't want to get more than they can sell.
But I do agree with you. I consider myself to be a UL supporter. I give to the RCAF, buy season tickets even though I can't make many games, and I buy my bowl tickets through UL even though it will probably mean worse seats. But other people are just fans. They don't feel a desire to go out of their way to support the program and that's okay too. They just want to buy a ticket and go to a game. No one is obligated to give money to the RCAF or buy tickets through UL. I really wish they'd do more but I'm happy they're showing up regardless. We could use more fans.
BTW, every supporter on here was only a fan at some point.
Exactly! I ordered mine through UL. They were accommodating in my request to get 8 together; however, I have no idea where those will be. It would have been easier to use ticketmaster and literally pick my seats; but I also wanted to be in the UL section.
Also understand the mailing issue. I was told it would be an extra $20 if mailed, but if lost, no guarentees I would get my tickets reissued. Just decided to use will call at the Dome; so I'll pick them up after flying in on the 20th.
Bottom line: UL will make a profit with this game, and most if not all alloted tickets will be purchased thru UL. Lots of red in the dome will look good regardless of where they bought the tickets and that is what most people will notice.
Yeah, I think in this case you have to go through ticketmaster or some other vendor that will allow you to pick your seats online. You have to be able to see exactly what you are getting. That's hard to do with our allotment. It could be done, but they would probably screw it up and cause you to not have an accessible seat.

And that was my point at least the Gentlemen is going to the game! We will sell our allotment for sure so why ____ people off and say oh well you should have bought throught the university. To get to where we want to be you will have to accept some of these fans bandwagoners and all, because the fact is if you want just loyal diehard cajun fans you will only be bringing 25k to the superdome!
