LAFAYETTE- Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns women’s tennis team won the second match of Sunday’s doubleheader with a 6-1 win over McNeese State. The Cajuns improve to 11-5 on the year.

In singles action, the Cajuns swept the Cowgirls at positions one through five. The Cajuns chose to default at No. 6.

Tammy Day defeated Urska Dobersek 6-3, 6-1 at No.1, while Chanell Meijer
topped Natasha Jongeneel 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2.

Laura Martelli triumphed over Petra Gudelj 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, and Clemence Remy topped Vicky Martinez 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4. Kimmie Lyles defeated Inga Efimenko 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5.

In doubles action, the Cajuns swept McNeese in all three matches.

Day and Meijer topped Dobersek and Martinez 8-4 at No.1, and Myrthe Molenveld and Remy defeated Efimenko and Romana Hueller 8-2 at No. 2. Martelli and Angela Dangond defeated Bihorac and Teo Costin 8-1 at No. 3.

The Cajuns return to action Thursday, March 22 when they travel to Miami to take on Florida International.
