  5. UL Tennis UL tennis teams to open seasons

Weather permitting, UL's men's and women's tennis teams will open pivotal spring seasons today.

The Cajun teams are scheduled to host Alcorn State at Cajun Courts, with the women at 1 p.m. and the men at 3:30 p.m. The matches were postponed from a previously-scheduled Sunday start, and today's conditions may again not be conducive to outdoor tennis.

The two squads are both under the tutelage of coach Katalin Gyulai this season, after the teams went in opposite directions late last spring.

The men's squad captured its first Sun Belt Conference title since 1992, upsetting top-seeded Middle Tennessee in the conference title match, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.

Does anyone know if these matches took place and if so, what were the outcomes. I would believe the Cajuns should have swept both the men's and women's, but hoping someone could update us.

    thanks.

that sucks, it would have been nice for the Cajuns, being such a young team, to get off to a nice start and build some confidence. But oh well, now it is time to go kick Oral Robert's _____.

You are right, great start and winning easily has to make them feel good. I see where Kim only played doubles, is that because they were trying to get some of the younger players in. Good luck to Kim and the rest of the team throughout the season. I have a good feeling we could see the men and women's tennis teams as well as baseball and softball in postseason play this year.
