Let see Pirouge you got your law degree from a university in that horrible city and you live about 30 minutes from it. You pull for who you want but don't expect for everyone to come around to your type of thinking.Originally Posted by Pirogue

Sorry if I'm wrong, but when you said: "If you do support the Saints move to New Orleans....", I assumed you meant that I should not be supporting the Saints because I don't live there. You were combating my statement about you supporting Chicago.Originally Posted by Pirogue
I won't pretend to know why you believe New Orleans is a murderous city and have such ill feelings towards it. The football team aside, the city offers tremendous value when compared to other major cities in the US. It deserves our support as does the football team.
It is apparent that you are a CONVERTED Panthers fan, due to Jake, no doubt. I love Jake just as much as any other Cajun alum and admire his success against adversity. But I owe NO LOYALTY towards them (and I don't think the Acadiana community does either). And I can't even say I wish them the best because they are in the Saints division.
By the way, on New Years Eve, your beloved Panthers struggled to beat Jamie Martin and the 2nd and 3rd string Saints. And missed the playoffs. While your hated Saints are playing in the NFC Championship this Sunday for a chance to represent the NFC and Louisiana (whether you like it or not) in the Super Bowl.
Sometimes you shouldn't always say what you think...
When you switch teams because of a player then you also must understand that player will one day leave or retire. Do you still stick with the team? He use to be a Saints fan. Heck I bet Jake is pulling for them.Originally Posted by CajunCherokee

College football rules as far as competition goes [though a playoff system would make me happy, but OMG is that a different thread]... pro football is like the circus... sometimes entertaining....
All the playoff games so far have been entertaining... and that's rare.
For your sake I hope the Saints win Sunday.
But if the Bears win... I'll be happy for Tillman... one our greatest athletes ever... who no doubt helped us get Josh Harrison and LaMar Morgan [Who was offered by Georgia Tech & will finish as an academic All American I believe]... and he played for us when we didn't even show up for games...
As far my experience at Loyola.
My car was stolen twice and I had to walk classmates to their cars due to the ever-present threat of rapes, attacks etc...
I earned a law degree... but I learned I need to keep people that are close to me safely out of that city.
Following you logic... LSU represented "US" in the Sugar Bowl...Originally Posted by CajunCherokee

More murders than days this year my friend... and that's at half strength...Originally Posted by CajunCherokee
Wow those are some bad experiences in an area that is not a high crime area.Originally Posted by Pirogue
I took classes at Loyola and experienced none of that. Did you take night classes? That was nice of you to walk fellow students to their cars. New Orleans does have a crime problem no doubt about that. It is also a beautiful and unique city. My wife works everyday in the Quarter and she has never been robbed nor has she had her car stolen. I've lived here since 1993 and have never had a problem. The New Orleans Saints do represent the state in the NFL. The LSU analogy doesn't really work because the Saints are the NFL team in the state. Again you can pull for who you want but it makes me scratch my head that a local wouldn't be pulling for the Saints.
