Doubt the bowl would want that. No hotel rooms booked.

----Oh yea---Monroe and Tech to determine the champion of North louisiana---both teams have beaten some college high conference profile teams (admittedly none are worth a damn this year) but finally a chance for all the damn bragging/complaining to stop----You have to admit it would finally bring some people to an INDY game---oh well maybe!!!

ASU is closer to Memphis than Middle Tenn.

Middle is relatively close to Birmingham too if that opens.

Just think with ASU being tops in attendance and Memphis being very close, that's gonna be the spot for them. Probably where they want to go and probably who the Liberty bowl folks would like if we're talking a SBC team.

All in all, it's financially not even close. We'd have to hit a major bowl payout in order to improve financially over the NO Bowl. It will take UL IMO being in the top 25 before we are eligible to earn a bowl bid that financially competes with the NO Bowl (financially for us).
You make TOTAL sense yet so many don't get it (and I am not referring to this board, or at least most of them)!

The New Orleans Bowl will take the best candidate for that individual year. They are not going to deal with what ifs.

What don't you get about 14K bigger than they ever had before? So maybe this year we are less enthused say at 7-5 than last season and it is only 10K more than the prior record. That is still probably about 10K more than MoanROW. Yea that is what I am saying MoanROW will not exceed prior records. Given that who will be champs next season, and the following? I don't know but they will very likely bring not less than 2k the prior record and probably around the same. HELL it may even be a 9-3 UL and even more crazies.
I am with you here CE; they will worry about next year next year!

----One huge stat that hasn't been discussed in regard to the Cajuns being wanted for the NO BOWL----Last year the SDSU people brought NOBODY and their purchase a ticket for the kids was not much at all---The crowd was UL and MORE UL----Remember that in the past it wasn't the work of one school that got the crowd---Can't remember who played in the former highest attended game----But just think if USM and the Cajuns played!!!!

USM keeps this staff another year and they may sink to TooLame status. Ole Miss and Mississippi State both improving, UL and Hud keeping more SE Louisiana kids home. I know it sounds crazy, after all a few years ago they fired a very very good, and productive coach. IMO someone will step up and get rid of this knucklehead, but I can hope can't I.

Boomer this is the first year I do not see lots of USM prospects from the state voicing their desire to possibly hook up in Hattiesburg.

UL will bowl in New Orleans. La Tech will bowl in Shreveport. ULM will bowl in Mobile. The NO Bowl and the I-Bowl need to sell tickets. A pair of 6-6 mid major schools from three or four states away won't do that. Mobile gets stuck with ULM by default. That is my prediction.
