No, but everyone knows "interesting matchups" are not how bowl committees select their participates. They simply are not. The bowls want that out of state money and weekend stay-overs. Some of Tech's bowl matchups, going by memory only.......Maryland, Clemson, Louisville, East Carolina, N. Illinois, TCU..............none are area state teams. I can only imagine what the I-Bowl folks think about a game involving UL, ULM, or Tech, despite how giddy some would be to see a Ulm vs. Tech matchup.

Now really, UL has something special happening NOW. Time to look FORWARD, not back. Or, 2008 can be re-hashed over and over again by UL fans until a future date when nobody remembers or cares, whichever comes first.

Not surprising that Tech fans would want us to forget their conditional acceptance of the I-Bowl (no Sun Belt opponent).

As for economic impact, a regional mid-major like UL has greater economic impact for S'port than a geographically distant mid-major like NIU or a "hometown" team like Tech.

Call me crazy, but you are over thinking this.

The New Orleans Bowl will take the best candidate for that individual year. They are not going to deal with what ifs.

What don't you get about 14K bigger than they ever had before? So maybe this year we are less enthused say at 7-5 than last season and it is only 10K more than the prior record. That is still probably about 10K more than MoanROW. Yea that is what I am saying MoanROW will not exceed prior records. Given that who will be champs next season, and the following? I don't know but they will very likely bring not less than 2k the prior record and probably around the same. HELL it may even be a 9-3 UL and even more crazies.

Hammer you need to forget it, they are our friendly rival, would never leverage a bowl to help create separation. Tell you what if LTU plays us as scheduled and does not forfeit their penalty clause maybe, just maybe I fall for it. Naw, never buying it, but frankly it does not matter.

WingOver can simply say water under the bridge. True but I don't really want to put my new canoe into that dirty river

I like UL and I don't have any problems with this issue. Don't you want outsiders to visit your board from time to time?

Okay........I wonder why the Tech board doesn't operate like this.

just thinking out loud.....do any of you think that the 11:00 kickoff would deter some people from going, as opposed to a night kick off in shreveport, or a holiday night in dallas? just a thought
